Electric bicycle brake system in-depth analysis and efficient maintenance guide浏览数:9

As a new favorite of modern urban travel, electric bicycles have won the favor of many consumers for their convenience and environmental protection. However, the key

to safe riding is an efficient and reliable braking system. This article will delve into the internal structure and performance characteristics of the electric bicycle brake system,

and provide a comprehensive set of maintenance and use strategies to help riders enhance safety awareness and enjoy a more secure riding experience.

Inside the brake system

The electric bicycle brake system is mainly composed of a control part, a transmission part and an execution part.

- Control section: includes brake handle or pedal, which is the interface for the rider to interact with the brake system. When the brake handle or foot is operated, a brake

signal is generated and transmitted to the actuator by mechanical or hydraulic means.

- Transmission part: if it is a hydraulic brake system, the pressure is transmitted through a sealed brake fluid pipeline; In the case of mechanical brakes, the force is transmitted

by wire rope or Bowden cable.

- Actuator: contains brake disc, brake drum, brake caliper (disc brake) or brake shoe inside the brake drum (drum brake). This part acts directly on the wheels, slowing or

stopping the vehicle through friction.

Performance comparison and selection

Disc brakes: Known for their strong braking force, fast response and good heat dissipation, especially suitable for users seeking high performance and frequent downhill

riding. However, maintenance costs are relatively high.

- Drum brake: simple structure, low cost, easy maintenance, more suitable for urban flat riding. However, its braking effect is greatly affected by thermal attenuation, and

its braking performance may decline when it goes downhill continuously.

Efficient maintenance strategy

1. Regular inspection: It is recommended to check the wear of the brake lines/tubes every two weeks to ensure that there is no slack, breakage or leakage. At the same time,

check the flatness of the brake disc or drum and remove foreign bodies in time.

2. Cleaning and maintenance: Use special detergent and soft cloth to clean the brake disc, avoid the use of corrosive solvents. The inside of the drum brake can be gently

blown with compressed air.

3. Lubrication adjustment: Regularly apply appropriate amount of lubricating oil to the movable joints of the brake cable or brake lever to maintain smooth operation.

Adjust the tension of the brake cable as needed to ensure that the brake feel is moderate.

4. Professional replacement: When the brake pads and brake discs reach the wear limit, they must be replaced in time. Professional technicians are recommended to perform

this operation to ensure correct installation to prevent potential security risks.

Use skill improvement

- Smooth transition: Learn to brake gradually, that is, gradually increase the brake force rather than a sudden brake, which helps to keep the car stable and reduce the risk of sudden stops.

- Rational distribution: On dry roads, the front and rear brakes can be used equally to obtain the best braking effect and handling stability. On wet roads, the front brake should

be used carefully to prevent the front wheel from sliding.

- Predictive driving: Improve the ability to predict road conditions, prepare for deceleration in advance, and reduce the need for emergency braking, which can protect the brake

system and is also the basis for safe driving.

By understanding the braking system, taking the right maintenance measures, and mastering efficient use skills, every e-bike rider can greatly improve the safety and comfort

of the riding process. Safe riding starts with me!
